Align Edges is a simple tool for aligning selected edges to the Active Edge (the last selected edge, white color in viewport).

It can work on edge ring, also it can be useful on edge loop. It can smooth the selected edge-loop to the active edge's direction.

The aligning is done according to the "active edge", the last selected edge in blender (white color). By switching to different active edge,
you can control the align direction easily.

There are two modes of alignment :
Projection : align selected edges to the Active Edge (the white color one) , and project them to the original surface normal. It use the face normals of the nearby faces to calculate the projection.
Full : align the target edge to fully match the orientation of active edge.

This tool has the handy spreading setting, which can select the nearby edges. So you can just select 1 center edge, and align all near rings.

You can select multiple edge-loops, and then select an extra edge as an active edge for aligning. The tool do not change the active edge.

Usage

Go to blender Edit mode, select the edges,

then right-click in the 3d viewport, and select Align Edges at the bottom of the pop up context menu.

You can change the settings at the menu on Left-Bottom of viewport.

Project : Align the edges to the Active Edge (the last selected edge. usually white color in 3d viewport), the edges will be projected on their original surface. The surface is calculated by the face normals of the nearby faces.

Full : Align the edges to the Active Edge.

None : Do not align

Spread : Select more edges rings from the existing selected edges

Iterations: The number of iterations that the engine use (for smooth projection). Usually 200 is enough.

Same Edge Length : Set all edges to the same length

Align To Center : Shift the edges to the same plane with the Active Edge (the plane is the common surface obtained by Active Edge direction)

Length Scale : Scale the edges length
